ABOUT ME

My life’s journey has lead me down many different roads, but my interest has always been to help and heal others. I have served in the massage field for over 30 years. During this time, I have found that not only have my techniques improved, but I also discovered a skill for explaining what I was doing, and its implications to both clients and students learning for the first time.

From a young age, I realized that I had strong hands, and had an aptitude for massage. My first client was my mother, who worked in a fast-paced business that often required long hours on her feet. She found that I could help to ease tightness and help her relax. In high school I would massage teammates and friends, to help relieve muscle tension and stress. In college, I took my first hands on course in Swedish massage therapy. If I wasn’t hooked before, I was then. I learned how to gauge the depth of my work and techniques on how to transition from one area of the body to another, to create a flowing massage. After a major football injury and temporary time off from college, I decided to enroll in the Somerset School of Massage Therapy in central New Jersey. It was during this time that I gained a life long passion for Massage Therapy.

This passion has led me to some great locations to work. I lived and worked in Bermuda for a year and soon after moved here to Asheville to work. This is also the area where I decided to start teaching massage and its many different modalities. I started teaching at the Center for Massage and Natural Health in 1998 as an energy teacher. I have since taught many different classes there. Reflexology, NMT, Integrative, Aromatherapy, Business and Marketing, as well as Chair massage, and still contiue to teach there today. I have also taught my CEU classes at the center over the past 10 years. I continue to teach CEU classes in black mountain and Sylva NC.
